Meet Our Family

Get to know the members of the family!

Cris

Cris is our resident human dad/dog dad and groomer! For 10 years Cris owned and operated Uncle Puppy, a dog walking and pet sitting service based in Manhattan, until co-founding Whitestone Doghouse in 2019, where he has been honing in on his dog grooming skills. Cris is a Fear Free Certified groomer and is currently studying with IV San Bernard’s Pet Skin Academy for his certification as a pet aesthetician. Cris can provide whatever grooming service you might need for your dog during their stay.

Becky

Becky is the resident Mom at the family dog. In addition to her most important job of being August’s Mommy, she is a dog Mommy to Maryann, she works from home as a therapist and does many of the caring tasks for our dog guests. Becky has years of experience in pet care including pet sitting and dog walking in Manhattan. She helps with transportation, feeding, activities, and giving medication. For the more cuddly pups, Maryann is happy to share Becky’s and Cris’s bed at night.

Arv

Arv is our resident Papa. He is a retired home restoration specialist and a lifelong animal lover. Arv takes care of all of the daily dog tasks of feeding, walks and potty breaks, activities, giving medication, transportation and overall fun! He is a also a talented artist and can paint or sketch a portrait of your fur baby or family.

August

Becky and Cris’s 5-year-old daughter August is not an official staff member yet, but she may have a career with animals in her future. August loves to play Vet with her toy dogs and dinosaurs who she calls her “sweet darlings.” She is known to say that when she grows up she wants to be a “singing dog groomer.” August loves to play outside and go on hikes with the dogs and even helps feed them sometimes.

Katie

Our resident “Mimi.” In addition to being August’s Mimi, Katie is a Registered Nurse and a full-time Clinical Account Manager. When Mimi isn’t on the road, our pup and pup guests like to cuddle on her loveseat while she works from home.

Maryann is our rescue baby. She is around 7 years old, possibly part Poodle and possibly part Brussels Griffon, although our vet believes she is part Schnauzer. Maryann is still adjusting to meeting new people, but she loves to meet new dogs.
